Reagan Lost the Republican cut into the incumbment.

Reagan won the 1980 Election, he picked up George H.W Bush as his running mate. Bush later became the 41st president.

Reagan originally was a New Deal Democrat

In the 1950's he became a conservative Republican, he stated that the Democratic Party had left him he did not leave it.

In 1966 Reagan became governor of California.

In 1980 he became President, in the election he received 44 Million Votes, that is 51% . He carried 44 States with 48% of the electoral votes.
