Misconception 1 Seasons don't happen because of Earths orbit. If that were true then the northern and Southern Hemisphere would have the same seasons. The distance away from the Earth is away from the sun.
Misconception 3 The Earth is tilted 23.5 degrees. A common misconception is that the seasons depend on the Earth being closer or farther from the sun. Earths orbit around the sun.
What I learned during this assignment is that the seasons don't depend on Earths orbit, it depends on the tilt. Also when the Earth is closest to the sun it's winter not summer.
