WHERE ARE RED PANDAS FOUND?

  • The Red pandas can be found in China, India and Myanmar.
  • They are on the endangered list due to loosing its habitat and it's source of food.
  • Red pandas are endangered because of deforestation
  • The red panda lives, eats, and raises its babies in forest mountain terrains.

WHAT DO RED PANDAS EAT?

  • Bamboo is the main diet of the red panda and is abundant in its natural habitat.
  • However it will also eat a variety of other foods such as fruits, nuts, eggs, flowers, and seeds.
  • The red panda is an omnivore
  • They also eat lizards insects and birds

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE EFFECTING RED PANDAS

  • Deforestation is effecting red pandas and causing extinction

FACTS

  • Red pandas are listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species because of habitat loss.
  • There are fewer than 10,000 adult red pandas.
  • Red pandas, which resemble raccoons, are about 42 inches long, including a long, bushy tail.
  • They weigh between seven and 14 pounds.
  • A lot of red pandas don't make it into adulthood
