COMMON ELEMENTS IN REGGAE MUSIC...
"Call and response" is always used and so is an accent on beats 2 & 4.
It is played in 4/4 rhythm but is slower than ska and rocksteady.
The bass in reggae music is thick and heavy and plays a dominant role.
drums and bass are important instruments-make up what is called the "riddum"
an easily recognised element is the offbeat rhythm played throughout.
