My article is about Quebec giving retailers like Walmart or Costco too much freedom.

How is Quebec unique in the case of this article?

  • Always try to add a French word in any kind of company for example like Starbucks, in Quebec they have it as ''Café Starbucks".
  • Retailing companies in Quebec must have a French slogan or word in their company name.
  • New regulation will take 3 years to take effect.

How do other regions in Canada understand the issue your article explains?

  • Other regions in Canada might understand the issue of having a french word in your company name because almost 20% of Canada is French and a lot of the population will disagree with this new regulation that they want to introduce.

How can marketers use this article to be more successful at selling products?

  • Marketers that are in Quebec can maybe implement something French in their company name but I do not reccommend doing this if you are not based in Quebec. Although there are some exceptions like for example HomeSense or Roots.
