The North and South had different forms of economies.
Some things they differed on were slavery, farming, and products.

NORTH

FACTORIES
The Northerners used lots of factories.
In these factories, they mass produced goods such as textiles.
They used their products to use and sell to others.

TEXTILES
As the factories became more popular.
Textiles became one of their biggest products.
The factories and their machines allowed us to mass produce textiles making them
easy to sell.

SLAVES
With the use of factories, less slaves were needed.
Northern people worked toward the abolition of slavery.
They accomplished this in the North and slaves wee outlawed.

FARMERS
Although factories were main economy source, farms were still used.
Farms mainly provided the owners with supplies and food.
Didn't use lots of cash crops.

SOUTH

PLANTATIONS
Plantations were still huge in the South.
Owners required tons of slaves and workers.
Grew lots of cash crops.

COTTON
After the cotton gin was invented, it became extremely popular.
Maeve more slaves come to work.

Because of demand for cotton, use of slaves grew.
As the cotton gin was invented, cotton became extremely popular.
As demand for cotton rose, more slaves were needed.
Slave demands grew and tons were brought over from Africa.
Unlike th North, they increased in numbers.

The American plan was created to unite the economies of the North and
South, and allow them to benefit off of each other.
Thanks to this plan, the North and South were able to work together and prosper
as one nation.
