Christianity

  • The goal of this religion is to love God and obey his commandments while creating a relationship with Jesus Christ and spreading the gospel so that others may be saved
  • Conservative Christians dress modestly; women may wear long skirts or dresses. Men wear dress clothes that don't show the chest, legs and arms. More moderate or liberal Christians generally reject such clothing restrictions

  • The sacred text of Christianity is the Bible, including both the Hebrew scriptures (also known as the Old Testament) and the New Testament.
  • The three major branches of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism
  • Important tenets are the Ten Commandments and The Beatitudes

Christianity

  • Christianity developed out of Judaism in the 1st century C.E.
  • Traditional Christian beliefs include the belief in the one and only true God, who is a being and exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the belief that Jesus is the divine and human Messiah sent to the save the world.

  • Places of worship include churches, chapels, cathedral, home bible study
  • The place of origin is Roman Province of Judea
  • Practices include prayer, sacraments (some branches), worship in church, reading the bible, acts of charity and communion

  • The belief in life after death is eternity in Heaven or Hell
  • Leaders in worship are known as priest, bishops,ministers,monks and nuns
  • Original languages are Greek, Hebrew and Koine

Islamic

  • Existence in and oneness of God (Allah)
  • Sacred text of islam is the Quran
  • Muslims have six main beliefs, called the Articles of Faith. The focal Muslim belief is that there is only one God.

Islamic

  • The Quran refers to a written pre-text, "the preserved tablet", that records God's speech even before it was sent down.
  • Muslims believe that the Quran was orally revealed by God to the final prophet, Muhammad, through the archangel Gabriel

  • Place of worship are mosque , masjid or any place which is considered clean by Islamic standards
  • The place of origin is the Arabian Peninsula and Mecca at Mount Hira
  • The founder is known as Prophet Muhammad

  • Imam leads congregational prayer in a mosque, sheikh, mulana, mullah and mufti

  • The belief of life after death is that all that all beings created with reason will be accountable to God almighty on the day of judgement . They will be rewarded for every atoms of weight of good, and either forgiven or punished for evil deeds
  • Important tenets are the Five Pillars of Islam among Sunni Muslims and the Seven Pillars of Islam among Shia Muslims. The Shia Twelvers also have the Ancillaries of Faith
