PRESENTATION OUTLINE

MISSION TRIP REFLECTION

Elm Mott Elementary

WHEN, WHO, WHERE

  • Went a month ago
  • Neicy, Audrey, Lexie, Dylan, Cami, Christina, Brandon, Carter, Ruth
  • Lead by Mr. Zimmerman
  • Located in South Texas

Overview

We drove to Elm Mott elementary. There we helped children learn english and math. We interacted with the kids and played with them.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • The school was very big
  • It was nice and clean
  • The trip was very interesting to me
  • It made me happy to make them happy

Comparison 1

St. Paul's reason for his journeys was to preach the good news. We did not preach to them but modeled what being a Christian is, and that speaks just as loud.

Comparison 2

Paul and his team left from the church Antioch where they were safe with other Christians. We traveled from our school where it is a safe environment for Christians to be love to someone else.

Comparison 3

Once they arrived they preached to believers and non- believers, but mostly Jews. I helped the children read and solve problems, we talked about their families and their home life. I listened to them and gave them advice.

Comparison 4

Paul and his team revisited places to see how the newly Christians were doing. I revisited them in the hallways and asked them how their day was. I tried to make them feel acknowledged.

Comparison 5

Sergius Paulus accepted the Word of God on the trip. The little girl and boy I talked to accepted my advice and admired what I was saying.

WEST END

WHEN

  • About a year ago from 7:00 to 10:00
  • My church would go out on Friday nights to share the gospel

Where

  • West Dallas
  • In the Downtown area

WHO

  • I went with my friend Brecca and Keegan
  • We were lead by the leaders of the church
  • Hannah runs the program and drives everyone down there

Overview

We would travel to West End and share the gospel on the street. We prayed for people and bought them food.

Characteristics

I learned so much going down there. We saw people get healed. For example there was a man who couldn't walk get out of his wheel chair. People started recognizing us as ones that prayed.

Comparison 1

St. Paul and his team went into places that were worldly and preached the gospel. We went to a scary, dirty part of town and showed our light to the broken people down there.

Comparison 2

St. Paul left from his church that provided him safety and ventured out to be light in new places. We left our tiny church where we can openly talk about Christ, and brought it to a place where the people need it.

Comparison 3

Paul's team preached to believers and non- believers. We prayed for Christians who had lost hope and people who were lost.

Comparison 4

St. Paul revisited the places he preached to check on the people. We went almost every friday and would often run into the same people. We became known as the Christian group to the area.

Comparison 5

Some of the people Paul talked to truly accepted the Word of God. We came across people who openly accepted God and even exchanged numbers.
