And its Creation Stories Kelton Hopkins

CHRISTIANITY BELIEFS

-Christians believe that God is the sole creator of the universe and is the one who sustains human beings. They believe that Jesus is the son of God and he died so as to save human beings from sin. They believe in Eternal life after death and resurrection.

-Christians also believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that God sent him to earth to save humanity from its sins and that there is only one God, but that there are three elements to this God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Hinduism Beliefs

-Hindus believe in the divinity of the Vedas, the world's most ancient scripture, and venerate the Agamas as equally revealed. These primordial hymns are God's word and the bedrock of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal religion which has neither beginning nor end.

-Hindus believe in a one, all-pervasive Supreme Being who is both immanent and transcendent, both Creator and Unmanifest Reality.

-Hindus believe that all life is sacred, to be loved and revered, and therefore practice ahimsa, "noninjury."

Purpose of the Christian Creation Story

The opening scene of the biblical drama. It introduces us to the two main characters in the Bible: God and man. we meet God, the Almighty Creator of all things, the ultimate object of his love—man—as he concludes the stunning work of creation. In summary, the simple truth of the creation story is that God is the author of creation

Purpose Of the Hinduism Creation Story

Everything disappears into Everything disappears into the Supreme the Supreme One. For an unimaginable period of time chaos and water alone exist. Then once again Lord Vishnu appears, floating on the vast ocean. From Lord Vishnu comes forth Lord Brahma of the new universe and the cycle continues for ever.

This belief in reincarnation, in the cycle of life, strongly influences the lifestyle of may Hindus. It can best be explained by the terms 'dharma' and 'karma'. Dharma may be translated as 'duty' and for Hindus, part of that duty is to respect and care for all living things. The belief that after death we are reborn in another body, not necessarily human, leads to a great respect for all life and results in many cases of vegetarianism. Karma is the result or product of what we do. If we do our duty, then we create good karma, since the next life we may have is directly related to the actions of our present life. To the Hindu, everything is part of the Supreme One, and thus every living thing is equally important in the great cycle of life.

Comparison in literary devices

The Christian creation Story is told in short story form explaining the trials and tribulations of man and its own doings and how Gods wrath is bestowed, whereas the Hindu version is explained in a long Narrative.
Literary devices found in both stories are Allegory and Allusions to describe superior beings.
