The similarities in Christian and Muslim creation stories are the belief in one God, Day of Judgment, resurrection, God created the world, heaven, and all living things, and humans are superior and important than the rest of the creations. Both creation stories are narrative and descriptive. The purpose of the stories is very similar in telling how the world was created. The literary structure of both stories is description and order & sequence. They told the events in order from beginning to end.

Creation Stories Differences

The difference between the Christian and the Muslim creation story is in the Christian creation story is the belief of God having three forms which are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Christians believe "the fall" was how suffering and death entered the world, Jesus will return at the end of time, and Jesus was the son of God and he died to forgive humanity's sins. Man was created in the Garden of Eden on Earth and creation was in 6 normal Earth days. The purpose of the story is to explain suffering and death. There is no literary structure difference between the Christian and the Muslim creation story.

The difference between the Mulism and the Christian creation story is in the Muslim creation story Muhammad is the founder of Islam and was the last in the line of prophets, people who submit to God will be saved and will go to Paradise, and Jesus was not the son of God. Man was created in Paradise and not on Earth, and creation was in 6 days but it can be in millions of years. The purpose of the story is to teach that people should submit to God and be thankful for all living things. There is no literary structure difference between the Christian and the Muslim creation story.
