  • Scientist
  • Birth: 1452 Death: 1519

Leonardo was interested in how things worked. He filled his notebooks with observations and sketches and then incorporated his findings into art. His most famous work is the Mona Lisa.

I chose Leonardo because we still examine his work today. Also, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper are very historical art pieces.

  • Poet
  • Architect
  • Painter
  • Birth: 1475 Death: 1564

Michelangelo used a realistic style when depicting the human body. A famous piece of his work is the Statue of David. I chose Michelangelo because he was one of the most famous artists of the Renaissance.

RAPHAEL SANZIO

  • Architect
  • Birth: 1483
  • Death: 1520

Raphael learned from studying Michelangelo and Leonardo. He was famous for his use of perspective. I thought it was important to choose him because his painting, The School of Athens, showed the classical influence on the Renaissance.
