WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

  • Resource Depletion: the number of natural resources reducing.
  • Problem: non-renewable resources are going quickly and
  • renewable resources are becoming non-renewable.
  • Without these resources animals will find it harder
  • to find food and will eventually die off.

WHO IS CAUSING RESOURCE DEPLETION?

  • Humans are causing this.
  • Why this is happening:
  • Over population, Over use of resources
  • Technological and Industrial development
  • Mining and Pollution

IMPACT ON ANIMALS

  • The animal this is impacting most is The Tiger. Tigers have lost 93% of
  • there historic range. This is mainly caused by Resource Depletion,
  • which leads to less prey for the tiger. Other animals affected
  • include Orangutans, Amur Leopards and Pandas, This is also
  • due to mainly deforestation (humans destroying the forests)

WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING?

  • Resource depletion is happening right now.
  • Many of our main resources are predicted to be gone soon.
  • Zinc in 2026, silver in 2028, copper in 2038 and gas in 2049

WHERE IS THIS HAPPENING?

  • Resource depletion is happening everywhere, but
  • because about one half of the forests that once covered the
  • Earth have been destroyed, there is a lot of deforestation
  • caused by resource depletion. Most deforestation is around
  • Brazil, Indonesia, Sudan, Zambia and Mexico.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?

  • More trees and plants should be planted around the areas we take from,
  • Although this is already happening, it is not enough, so we need to plant more.
  • If more people recycle we won't have to cut down so many forests and will
  • save animal habitats. This could lead to less extinction. If we conserve water
  • by not letting faucets run, we will take less from oceans and save sea animals.

THE TIGER

  • There are many different types of tigers including Siberian, Bengal and the South China tiger.
  • Tigers are located all across Europe
  • There are around 3,200 tigers left altogether
  • The tiger is the largest cat species
  • It's scientific name is Panthera tigris

HOW ARE PEOPLE HELPING THE TIGER?

  • The tiger is extremely affect by resource depletion, mainly deforestation
  • Tigers need large territories, so fewer tigers can survive in the wild without their habitat.
  • Humans are protecting the tiger by participating in things like
  • WWF's ROARR Campaign, which is protecting tigers by protecting their habitats with donation money,
  • Stop using tiger products, Donating to these organizations and partitioning are other ways people are helping.
