PRESENTATION OUTLINE

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DOES IT DO

ORGANS AND THEIR JOBS

  • Bronchial tubes carry air to each lung
  • Lungs pump air
  • The esophagus prevents food from entering the lungs
  • The trachea is a tube that the air moves through

CONTINUED

  • The nose and mouth both contribute to getting air in the body
  • Sinuses provide space for air to move through
  • Two bronchi com off the trachea and go into each lung
  • The diaphragm contacts so lungs can move

THING YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Cellular respiration use oxygen to give us energy but then we release C02
  • The respiratory system is meant to cycle air though us and give us energy
  • This system interacts with the skeletal system because the ribs protect it and the circulatory system because breathing helps move blood

MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  • THERE ARE TWO SPECIALIZED CELLS IN THE Respiratory system
  • They are mesenchymal and epithelial
  • Both of them help make op the lungs.
