PRESENTATION OUTLINE
-The Respiratory system begins with the nose.
-The nose filters dirt and other particles that should not get inside your body.
-The mouth and the wind pipe are next.
-The trachea is your wind pipe.
-The air goes down your trachea.
-Next the lungs do all of their work.
-This is where all the air exchange takes place.
-The air goes into the lungs this is where the gas exchange takes place.
-The lung tissue is full of blood vessels.
-The oxygen gets dropped off by the lungs into the blood vessels while at the same time picking up the carbon dioxide.
-You exhale to get rid of the carbon dioxide and inhale to get the oxygen from the air into the body.
Organs in the Respiratory System are external nares, internal nares, sinuses, pharynx, uvula, epiglottis, glottis,
trachea, larynx, bronchi,
bronchioles, alveoli, and the
lungs.
These organs work together to help you breath. The respiratory works with your other body systems to keep you alive.
The main organ in the respiratory is the lungs. Your lungs are important not just for breathing, but also talking. So keeping your lungs healthy is vital. Smoking and heavy pollution can damage your lungs. Every year your lungs process more than 4 million liters or air. That means we breathe about 23,000 times a day.
-The right lung is slightly larger than the left.
-Hairs in the nose help to clean the air we breathe as well as warming it.
-The highest recorded "sneeze speed" is 165 km per hour.
-The surface area of the lungs is roughly the same size as a tennis court.
-A person at rest usually breathes between 12 and 15 times a minute.
You can keep your respiratory healthy by not smoking anything, try to avoid bad air, exercise more ,eating right, and taking the right steps to avoid infection.
Bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, and lung cancer and diseases or disorders that can occur in your respiratory system. All of there can be treated, prevented, and cured in some way.
