He lived in West Barnstable, Massachusetts at birth.
He moved to Plymouth, Massachusetts for law practice.
Soon after he lived in Plymouth, he moved his law practice to Boston.

He was a lawyer in colonial Massachusetts.
A member of the Massachusetts provincial assembly.
He was also an early advocate of the Patriot views against British policy.

Otis was a graduate of Harvard College in 1743
