• The uses of logos pathos and ethos are used to engage the reader, listener, and observer of whatever the piece is. I believe NF, a rap artist, uses these three devices so well it makes his music and more specifically the album “The Search” the greatest of all time.

NF’S AUTHORITY(ETHOS)

• The listener isn’t interested in hearing the emotional conflicts of a man who is faking it. NF, has a long history of childhood trauma and the emotional instability associated with it. His walk with Christ and the improvements he has made on his life make his advice respectable. Where he started versus where he ended up make his songs of perseverance credible as well.
• He speaks from the other side of the grass to people who are trying to achieve what he has already mastered.

NF’S IMPORTANCE(LOGOS)

• While I am not perfect, I have made monumental strides towards self-reflection and moral integrity. The music NF creates changes lives. He uses the struggles of his past and the solutions that led him to his present to aid people in their battles. The music of one man changing the lives of millions. I am a prime example. The self improvements others have been taught by NF through music are nothing short of concrete examples of logos.

NF’S CONNECTION (PATHOS)

• The most critical part in capturing an audience is the emotional tie listeners must develop. The vulnerability of NF opening up about his personal struggles and the intense emotion he expresses in songs draws listeners to him. The success of his changes from depression and the ability to set the seen with the tone of his cadence and the rhythm of the beats make his audience feel what he feels. He makes the unwanted in all of us feel appreciated.

• Regardless of your music genre preference, NF delivers some powerful music with even more powerful outcomes. The platform he has been given and the success he has achieved is all due to his ability to relate to the people. Too often we find ourselves idolizing big time stars and NF takes the approach of sympathizing with us instead, Meaningful music by a meaningful artist in a meaningful way.
