The colony of Rhode Island was formed because of religious reasons so they could have their freedom from the king and queen.
It was ruled by two groups of kings and queens of England and Britain . It being Englands colony from 1636-1707 and it being Britans colony from 1707-1776
The government structure of this colony is providence plantations because they ran Rhode Island.
