• Ricardo Munez Ramirez was born on February 26,1960 in El Paso, Texas
• He was the youngest among five children
• His father was an abusive man.

Childhood

• As a young child he smoked marijuana and came under the influence of his older cousin Mike who was a U.S Army Green Beret Veteran.
• Mike would show Richard gruesome pictures of how he raped and tortured women during the Vietnamese War.
• Richard was there when Mike murdered his wife Jessie
• Many believed that Mike played a vital role in Richard becoming a serial killer.
• He had epilepsy as a teenager

Youth

• He later became drawn to morbid things lust.
• As a teenager he took LSD.
• He later delved deep into Satanism as well as dropped out of high school
• At his first job at a hotel he attempted to rape a woman.

Capture

• He was finally arrested on August 30 1985
• He was charged with 14 murders and 31 other felonies that were connected to his killing spree
• The trial dragged on for four years and he was finally foudn guilty on 43 ng charges, including 13 counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder, 11 sexual assault charges and 14 burglary charges.
• He recieved 19 death sentences in November 1989

Prison

• He spent a long time in priosn after his conviction.
• As a satanist, he became popular with cults and had several fans who were fascinated with him, one of them, magazine editor Doreen Lioy fell in love with him and they got married in San Quentin State Prison in October of 1996

Death

• He became ill with B-Cell Lymphoma while spending time on death row and died on June 7 2013, aged 53 years.
• He had been on death row for more than 23 years waiting execution
