Rio is mostly tropical rainforests. There is a statue of Jesus in Rio.
Rio also has some beaches. Since it is so warm soccer is played year round.
Rio has mountains covered with rainforests.
These mountains/rainforests make Rio a very warm place that is humid.
The average temperature year round is 80 degrees fahrenheit.

Tropical forests used to cover more than 90% of the territory of Rio.
Large portions were devastated for urbanization and for plantations.
The city of Rio has the largest area of urban forest in Brazil.
Floresta da Tijuca is preserved in the middle of the city.
The most important river of Rio is the Paraíba do Sul makes borders between Rio and Minas Gerais.

Trees in Brazil have grew longer roots to get deeper into soil, to get water.
Sea creatures swim to the deepest parts of the beaches to stay cool.

CULTURE
As in the rest of Brazil, football is the most popular sport.
The Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is a world famous festival.
Brazil is a mixture of races resulting in rich diversity.
People in Rio wear shorts, slacks, t-shirts, and button up shirts.
They also wear flip-flops mostly and sometimes wear tennis shoes.

Culture
The climate make people of Rio wear light comfortable clothes that they won't get to hot in.
