The Rio Grande is 1,885 (3,060 km) miles long.

The Rio Grande is called Rio Grande del Norte, and Rio Bravo in Mexico.

In the 1820's, America claimed the Rio Grande and made it the official border between America and Mexico.

When slavery was abolished in Mexico, slaves from Texas began crossing the river to reach freedom.

The Rio Grande was listed as an 'endangered river' once.

Water is necessary for life, and living, so I think People would settle by the Rio Grande because it has an 'endless' water flow.
