ROCK CYCLE

IGNEOUS ROCKS

  • The beginning of the rock cycle starts with the igneous rock. A rock formed from fire. This rock is formed when magma hardens inside the earth or when lava hardens on the surface

SEDIMENTARY ROCKS

  • Next in the rock cycle comes sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary Rocks are formed when an igneous rock gets weathered away into sediment. The sediment then can cement together at the bottom of a body of water, and form Sedimentary Rocks.

METAMORPHIC ROCKS

  • Metamorphic Rocks are last in the rock cycle. They are formed when an Igneous Rock or a Sedimentary Rock goes into the earth and with tons and tons of heat, pressure, and time, turns into a Metamorphic Rock

THE ROCK CYCLE

  • It starts with the Igneous Rock. When magma or lava crystallizes, it turns into and Igneous Rock. When an Igneous Rock gets weathered away enough, it turns into sediment. The sediment then can settle at the bottom of a body of water, and then form Sedimentary Rocks. The Sedimentary Rock or an Igneous Rock can then go into the earth, and after tons and tons of heat, pressure, and time will turn into a Metamorphic Rock. The Metamorphic Rock or the Sedimentary Rock can melt into magma, crystallize, and form into Igneous Rocks and start the cycle all over again.
