MINERALS ARE

  • A mineral is more or less solid chemical composition.
  • A mineral is naturally formed.
  • A mineral is solid or very hard.
  • A mineral has a crystalline.

ROCKS ARE

  • A rock is a large mass of stone forming a hill, cliff, promontory, or the like.
  • A relatively small piece or fragment of such material.
  • A relatively large body of such material, as a cliff or peak.
  • A naturally formed aggregate of mineral matter constituting a part of the earth's crust.

HOW ROCKS AND MINERALS ARE DIFFERENT

  • A rock is a large mass of stone forming a hill, cliff, promontory, or the like.
  • Rocks, on the other hand, are formed from one or more minerals.
  • Minerals have some have crystals.Rocks have not a single crystal.
  • Minerals have no fossils.Minerals are usually pretty.

EARTHS CRUST

  • The crust is the outermost solid shell of a rocky planet or natural satellite.
  • The earth's crust is very thin in comparison to the other three layers.
  • Temperatures of the crust vary air temperature is 1600 degrees Fahrenheit

EARTH'S MANTLE

  • The mantle is a part of a terrestrial planet or other rocky body large enough to have differentiation by density.
  • The mantle is a layer between the crust and the outer core.
  • The mantle encloses the hot core rich in iron and nickel,

OUTER CORE

  • The outer core is so hot that the metals in it are all in the liquid state.
  • The outer core is located about 1800 milesbeneath the crust.
  • The outer core is 1,400 miles thick.
