ROCKS

A naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids.

MINERALS

  • A mineral is a naturally occurring substance that is solid and stable at room temperature.
  • Representable by a chemical formula, usually abiogenic, and has an ordered atomic structure.

WHY ARE ROCKS AND MINERALS DIFFERENT AND SIMILAR?

  • Rocks and minerals are similar because rocks are formed by minerals.
  • Rocks and minerals are different because minerals has different shapes and colors than rocks.
  • Rocks and minerals are different because rocks are more heavy than minerals.
  • Rocks and minerals are different because you can do things with minerals and with rocks don't.
  • Rocks and minerals are similar because you can founded rocks and minerals in everywhere .

THE LAYERS OF THE EARTH

  • Crust-this is the first layer of the earth,it also protects us of the heat.
  • Mantle-This is the second layer of the earth and the biggest.
  • Outer Core-this is the third layer of the earth,it create the magnetic field.
  • Inner Core-this is the last layer of the earth it's made up of metal.

EARTH'S CRUST

  • Thinnest is the seabed.(under the ocean)
  • Thickest is the mountains.(a large landform)

WHAT CAUSE CHANGES ROCKS

  • Pressure:pressure squeezes the rocks.
  • Heat:it melt's.
  • Water:the water is heavy and it broke the rocks.
  • Erosion:it can erode away parts of rocks.

DIFFERENT AND SIMILAR BETWEEN MEDORPHIC,SEDIMENTARY,AND IGNEOUS ROCK.

  • The difference is because there are made of minerals.
  • There are similar because they are all rocks.
  • The difference is because you can found there in different places.

WHAT I SEE IN A CAVE?

  • Stalactites and stalagmites.
  • Water falling down.
  • Minerals and rocks.
