  • The rocky mountains stretch 3,000 miles from British Columbia Canada to New Mexico
  • They are a major mountain range found in north america, they were initially formed 80 million to 55 million years ago
  • These mountains form the continental divide, seperating rivers that drain to the Atlantic and Arctic oceans from those draining to the Pacific.
  • There is a lot of movemt coming in and out of the rockies including a lot of tourism to see the breathtaking views
  • Human interaction in the rockies can be broken down into three phases including, communal posture held by the native americans, Spanish Colonization, with the establishment of the United States
