  • Writing letters to an editor, politician, media, etc.
  • Create a petition - get people to sign it
  • Participate in community/council meetings
  • Fundraiser
  • Lobby a committee/group

  • Organize protest/support groups
  • Boycott products
  • Join an NGO, political party, community group

so the UN was formed

four purposes

  • maintain international peace/security
  • develop friendly relations among nations
  • cooperate in solving international problems and promoting rights
  • centre for harmonizing the actions of nations

not a world government

tries to resolve conflicts - can't force anyone to take action
