Theme/Lesson
- One theme that is stated clearly in this book is that segregation is wrong.
- An example of this is when Mama, Cassie, Stacy, and T.J. go to the market.
- This is an example of how segregation becuase even though they were one
- of the first people there, they had to park in the back because they were
- black (pg 105)
