  • One theme that is stated clearly in this book is that segregation is wrong.
  • An example of this is when Mama, Cassie, Stacy, and T.J. go to the market.
  • This is an example of how segregation becuase even though they were one
  • of the first people there, they had to park in the back because they were
  • black (pg 105)
