MOSAICS
Mosaics are made out of small colored pieces of material (glass, fabric, stones) that are put together to create one large image. These were commonly used for flooring in Rome. They can be made into a person, pattern, or anything the artist chooses. They are still made today, and can be seen in many art museums.

ARCHITECTURE
In Rome, they used to incorporate domes, and arches into buildings, and other things they made. They used these styles for design, and using them could make your building taller, to show it off more.

ROMAN ARCHITECTURE TODAY
Places all around the world, including the U.S.A. still use Roman architecture styles. People use domes and arches in bridges, churches, capitals, and many other places and buildings, but are much easier to make now.
Example: United States capitol building. (shown in the picture)

COLUMNS
Romans also used many columns. These were used for multiple reasons including helping hold the building together and for design. Columns made the buildings look fancier also. There were and still are many types of columns. There is tall, short, thin, thick, and they can have many different designs on it. It can have a person on it, or it can be plain, or the column can be a random design. Columns can also be made out of many different materials, like marble, wood, concrete, and plastic. And columns are still used today on houses, and many other buildings.

PAINTINGS
Even though this wasn't Rome's most popular or common art style, there was still some painters in Rome. They would paint on walls, tablets, wood, and many other materials. Most painters made their own homemade paints. They also painted on coffins to show honor or respect to the one who was dead. If you look at the tomes of highly ranked people, you will most likely see paintings and writings.

SCULPTURES AND STATUES
Rome has had very many sculptures and statues. These sculptures were used to honor people, or Roman leaders would make statues and sculptures of themselves to show that they had all the power. People also used these to honor and worship their gods, they created the sculptures how they think the god would look in real life. No sculptures ever looked the same,
