• Most religious activity in Rome required some kind of prayer or sacrifice, some of which was human sacrifice.

Roman Prayer

• Prayer, for the Romans, was very confusing,because of some gods not having names, and some of the god's genders were unknown

Roman State Religion

• The Roman State Religion was built much like a home, as a mother guards the hearth, the vestal virgins guard the flame

Vestal Virgins

• There were six vestal virgins, they would serve 10 years as novices, 10 years performing the actual duties, and then 10 years training the novices.
