HOW WERE THEY USED?

  • Contributed to the public with use of texts detailing military, legal, and civil issues
  • Acts Diurna, newspapers were written on stone and then posted in common places
  • Posted were victories for the Romans, games and gladiatorial bouts, death and birth notices.

HOW WERE THEY USED?

  • Details of the Roman senate were found in an Acta Senatus, withheld from public view.
  • Julius Caesar ordered them to be published as part of many populist reforms.
  • He instituted this during his first consulship.

HOW DID IT HELP?

  • It helped by letting everybody know the happenings in rome
  • Shows upcomig events especially live gladiator events and shows
  • Also any improvements or decreasing in the roman government
  • There was also reports on military happenings and victorys

HOW WERE THEY USED?

  • Newspapers were written on metal or stone
  • Appeared around 131 BC
  • Showed in public for all roman people to view
  • Were not like papers today but carved into walls of public areas to be viewed

  • Newspapers are used to inform people on current situations
  • National and local news included
  • Good and bad events, upcoming events and past events
  • Different sections for your liking
  • People know whats happening in there surroundings
