Roads

  • Romans built roads for their armies to march from place to place on.
  •  Romans tried to build thier roads as straight as possible
  • "all roads lead to Rome" 

homes in Rome

  • Wealthier Romans had larger 2 story houses.
  • Rome were common and dull on the outside.
  • There weren't that many windows.
  •  Windows that were in homes were closed off with shutters.

Emperors

  • The first Emperor of Rome was Augustus.
  • His original name was Octavian.
  • He changed his name when he became Emperor.

  • The 12 tables protected certain rights of citizens.
  • Some of the laws would be considered  cruel by people today. 
  • Some of their laws are like our laws today.
