ROME GEOGRAPHY

The founding of Rome owes much to the geography. Rome grew from a city to a country to an empire the location it was founded helped it grow. The people to find were the Latins. Settlers built Rome on seven steep hills. They chose a god spot for the climate, good farm land, and strategic location in case of attacks.
The Tiber river was an important geographical feature. In romes earliest times it provided a source for drinking water and farming. Later it provided a way of trade and travel. It also offered protections from enemy attacks.

Romes location on the Italian peninsula also played an important role. The peninsula stretches from Europe to Greece and Africa. This made roman ships to easily navigate through destinations.
Romes 2 main mountains ranges of Italy helped protect Rome. The alps border Italy on the north and the Apennines form Italy's back. The mountain ranges didn't separate like greeces. Italy had more larger plains then Greece, this made farming easier.
Their arcitecture is a lot similar to Greeks they believed in almost the same gods because well they were kind of the same and so they named their gods after planets for example Zeus is Jupiter. So they made white statues of them.
