Quintus Pompeius Falco became governor of Brittania between 118 and 122
In his last year of office he hosted a visit to the province by the Emperor Hadrian
That resulted in the construction of of Hadrian's Wall
The stone wall was 80 miles long (117 kilometres)
Defense was the main purpose but it also controlled movement behind the lines
