ABOUT HER

  • Her full name is Rosa Lousie McCauley Parks.
  • She was born on February 4th, 1913 .
  • Her birth place is in Tuskegee, Alabama.
  • She went to Highlander Folk School, Alabama State Teachers College for Negroes

ADULTHOOD

  • She married Raymond Parks on December 18, 1932.
  • Did not have any children

WHY IS SHE KNOWN???

  • Rosa is well known because she was sitting on a bus, in the white section(which wasn't allowed.)
  • A white person came onto the bus and told her to get up and move to the back of the bus; she refused to move from her seat.
  • The police came to escort her from the bus and took her to jail. The black people were outraged.

  • She had one sibling named Sylvester Mccauley.
  • Leona (née Edwards), a teacher, and James McCauley, a carpenter.
