WHY I PICKED ROSE OF SHARON

  • Because I was always interested in it even though I don't really know about it
  • I learned a little about Rose of Sharon and it interested me
  • I wanted to know more facts about the Rose of Sharon
  • I wanted more people to know about Rose of Sharon


WHAT IS THE ROSE OF SHARON?

1. a shrub of the mallow family, with rose, lavender, or white flowers.
2. a St. John's plant with crowded leaves and large golden-yellow flowers, native to southeastern Europe and Asia Minor and widely improved for ground cover.
3. (in biblical use) a flowering plant of unknown identity.

Rose of Sharon is the name of several different flowering plants native to Palestine and Asia

The Hibiscus syriacus, or Mugunghwa, is the national flower of Korea and mentioned in the country's anthem

The name Rose of Sharon originates from Old Testament bible verse, Song of Solomon 2:1, "I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys."

Rose of Sharon can grow 10 to 12 feet tall

Rose of Sharon comes in many colors--especially white, lilac, and pink; it occurs as a single flower, or as double.
