IPAD CART GUIDELINES

CART RESERVATION

  • 3 consecutive days
  • 2 times in one month
Be considerate of fellow faculty.

Please have a detailed plan for integrating the iPads into your lesson. Do not check them out with the intention of playing games the entire period.

CART CHECK-OUT

  • No substitutes
  • No student teachers
See the CTS before school, on the day of your reservation, to receive the combination to the lock.

Substitutes are not allowed to use the iPad carts.

Student teachers are not allowed to use with the classes unless the classroom teacher is present during the ENTIRE class period.

DISTRIBUTION

  • Teachers will distribute from cart
  • Assign iPad # to students
Students should use the same iPad each time for a particular class.

Complete the usage form or print a roster from TEAMS and write the iPad number next to the name.

STUDENT GUIDELINES

  • Do not open the Settings app
  • Do not change settings
  • Do not change wallpaper
  • Do not record without permission
  • Do not have food/drink near iPad
Additionally, do not use pencils, pens, etc to interact with the screen.

Fingers and stylus ONLY!

Students should only work in applications that are assigned by the teacher.

END OF CLASS PROCEDURES

  • Save work
  • All iPads in cart prior to dismissal
  • Cart plugged into wall
Allot enough time at the end of class for students to:
-save work (Edmodo or Google Drive)
-close & log out of websites/apps
-delete photos
-make sure all iPads are collected

iPads placed in cart by teacher

Before dismissing, account for ALL iPads

Cart plugged into the wall, not power strip

Check indicator lights on back of cart

END OF DAY PROCEDURES

  • Report problems to CTS
  • Check indicator lights
  • Lock cart & room
  • Lock cart & return to CTS
Report any problems with iPads, apps, or the cart to CTS

Ensure all units are plugged in and charging - check indicator lights on back of cart

Consecutive day check-out:
-cart locked
-room locked

End of reservation:
-cart locked
-cart unplugged
-return cart to CTS

SECURITY ISSUES

  • Keep cart locked
  • Keep room locked
  • Contact CTS if lost, stolen, missing
Store all iPads in cart and keep locked when not in use

Before dismissing class, all iPads locked I cart

Keep classroom locked when not in room

Delete media from camera roll (students)

If stolen, lost, or misplaced notify CTS immediately

INAPPROPRIATE USE

  • Actively monitor
  • Alternate assignments
Good classroom management is crucial

Active monitoring is required at all times

Be or road to suspend use of the iPads for students who inappropriately use the iPads

Have an alternate assignment prepared

REQUESTING APPS

FREE VS. PAID
Free - request app at least 1 week ahead of check out date. Create a work order with the app name.

Paid - request from principal with campus/department funds. Allow 10 school days for complete process (purchase & installation)
