Pathogen Causing Disease
Rubella Virus (Rubivirus)

5 SYMPTOMS

  • Inflamed or red eyes
  • Pink rashes (starts on face)
  • Stuffy nose
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache

5 TREATMENTS

  • Therapeutic Massages (relieves joint pain)
  • Exercising up to 30 minutes for five days
  • Drinking fluids, stay hydrated
  • Using ibuprofen to reduce fever

HOW IT'S TRANSMITTED
THE VIRUS IS SPREAD WHEN AN INFECTED PERSON COUGHS, SNEEZES, OR AN INFECTED PREGNANT WOMAN TO AN UNBORN CHILD.

  • Rubella is contagious 7 days before and after the rash appears.
  • Symptoms appear within 16-18 days; 20% to 50% of people don't exhibit symptoms.
  • 79% of all cases of Rubella occurred among people ages 15 and older.
  • Rubella is rare to catch, unless you are unvaccinated.
  • 7% of young adults are exposed to the Rubella virus.
