INTRODUCTION
Juliette Gordon Low was born in 1860, Savannah Georgia. She went to girl's schools in West Virginia and New York.
In 1886 she married William Low, and they moved to his home in England. Shortly after their marriage Juliette went deaf.

She started the first group of girl guides in America.
In 1913 the group was renamed the Girl Scouts.

INTRODUCTION
Ruby Bridges was born in 1954, Tylertown,MS. She is an African American.
Ruby's family moved to New Orleans,Louisiana when she was 4 years old. As a small child Ruby helped end segregation in schools. By 1960 segregation had been against the law for six years.

But it still happened in the New Orleans school. That year the schools were forced to integrate.
Ruby was picked to go at first grade in another white school. She was the only child in her class that year, many white parents took their children out of school.
