WATER RUNOFF FROM FARMS

  • One type surface runoff is chemical runoff,
  • Chemical runoff can come from farms.
  • Ponds and lakes naturally change over time
  • During this process a thick scum forms ontop of water
  • The scum blocks sunlight killing alge and plantlife

WATER RUNOFF FROM ROADS

  • Road runoff is when cars leak oil or gas pollution
  • Cars usually leave a puddle of oil that then runs off
  • Where does it go? It goes to under ground Aquifers
  • We drink from these Aquifers so it harms us and animals
  • Many people can get sick but animals can die if they drank this

WATER POLLUTION

  • There are many solutions to clean the ponds & lakes.
  • Water pollution can be caused by dirty lakes and rivers
  • Its harder to clean up water pollution than to prevent it
  • Animals and plants clean pollution by eating the chemicals.
  • Certain Bacteria help by eating oil and cleaning the water
