PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Russian Adoption ban

The inside look: Of how its affecting both countries children

Affecting Precious Children

  • Their are nearly 740,00 children in Russia who have no parental custody
  • More than 18,000 children are on the waiting list to be adopted
  • Most of these children have issues such as disabilities or sicknesses
  • However other countries like America accepted these children as ours
  • However with the Russian adoption ban it has stranded many children

Untitled Slide

  • It has affected many children since December 28, 2012
  •  America had adopted over 60,000 Russian children over two decades
  • Causing hundreds of families adoptions to be cut
  • These kids felt that there families didn't want them no more, confused
  • Causing hundreds of children to be stranded in Russia

Untitled Slide

  • Although they are trying to find families in their homelands
  • The countries they lost are irreplaceable, and make kids dreams come true
  • kids who were almost dopted by those families, wont forget their faces
  • Since they waited for them to bring them home, but that dream was crushed
  • That's why I think Russia should rethink the adoption ban

Untitled Slide

  • Why ban these countries from being able to adopt when their saving them
  • Far more Russian adopters die in there homelands than in America
  • It has affected 700 children who were in the process of being adopted
  • 300 of these children had already met their new families but were cut off
  • Only 99 of the 300 kids have been adopted by Russian and Western countries

Untitled Slide

  • However 64% of Russia support this law
  • Children are waiting for their new siblings to come home
  • However they may never, causing stress and hurtness
  • Since they know that they can never hold those children
  • Making families to keep fighting for them since they love them

Untitled Slide

  • The reason why I think they should think this over is ....
  • Russian's don't generally accept disabled children, 13 other countries do
  • Before the ban, orphans were offered to Russian families but no one took them in
  • A quote by Ravoka
  • So why can't Americans and the other 13 countries give these children love

Untitled Slide

  • 1998,  thousands of Russian children have been adopted into the U.S.
  • However many more children die in Russia than America
  • "Here in Russia we have many examples of bad parents
  • even worse than these American cases -- where kids are just tossed out,”
