Rise and FAll of THe Safavids

• THe Safavid empire was founded by Shah Esmāʿil. During this period, the Area surrounding persia and Central Asia, fell in Anarchy. esmāʿil used this to his advantage and crowned himself Shah (king).
• Under Shah Abbas the Safavids reached their highest point. Although this didn't last long.
• THe reason for their decline can be attributed to the Death of Shah Abbas. After his death the empire shattered.

THe Shah and Safavid Culture

• THe Role of the Shah was that of ruler and as a devout Shia Muslim.
• They were more readily available and more familiar with his subjects and the like.
• Trade wasn't as prosperous as the Ottomans or the Moguls, neither could they do business with the Europeans.
• Culture on the other hand was flourishing. Knowledge of mathmatics, science and the like were was equal with the likes of bigger nations or empires.
• Arts flourished during this period. Namely for the demand of Persian rugs. Persian painting also florished.

Stereotyping of Islam Today

• THere are Various Awareness groups for the islamic Faith. They try to inform others about common misconceptions and other things of that Nature. Probably a well known misconception would be the definition of Jihad.
• The difficulty for teens today, to try to keep their Islamic identities, is mainly due in part to the extreme racism and hate towards terrorists. Who conveniently are a religion, they could exploit to get what they want. THis in Turn, affects everyone else of the Islamic faith, when people turn their racism towards the people that have done nothing and are completely innocent.

Taj Mahal

• THe Taj Mahal is located in Agra, India.
• THis Building is so Famous not because a major art achievement by the Moguls, but by the stunning architecture, painting, and just the overall beauty of the building.
