WHICH DRUGS ARE USED MORE?

HOW OTC AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE DIFFERENT

  • You can buy a OTC drug from a supermarket but prescription drugs (you guessed it) have to be prescribed by a doctor
  • A prescription drug is bought at a pharmacy but OTC medicines can be bought in stores
  • A prescription drug can be used by only one person but an OTC drug can be used by more than one person

HOW OTC AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE THE SAME

  • Both need you to follow the directions
  • Both are drugs and do one of the reasons we take drugs (slide 2)
  • Both need permission from a parent or guardian
  • Pharmacists can answer questions about the drug
