When you get on your kayak make sure you have secured your life jacket and keep it on at all times

When you get out on the water make sure you stay in your group if your in a group

If you are by yourself make sure that you wear bright coloured clothing or bright kayaks so people can see you from a far distance

Before you leave make sure that you have told someone where you are going or how long you will be precisely

If you capsize make sure that you don't panic and just keep holding onto your kayak for extra support
