FACTS:

• Saint Ignatius was one of the most influential saints
• His injury from a cannonball led to him becoming Christian
• His full name was Íñigo López de Loyola
• He wrote many reflections which came popular
• He helped modernize the Roman Catholic Church

INTERESTING STORY:

• One day Ignatius was a soldier for the spanish army. He was in the Battle of Pamplona and took a cannonball to the knee. He recovered in the fort he was trying to defend. He was then transported to Loyola, there his conditions got so bad that he was scared to die, he decided to go through a painful surgery that would correct blunders made when the bone was first set. He had to recover for a long time. The only book that they had was about the lives of the saints. He then became interested in christianity
