• Grew up in Rome
• Born around 304 -306
• Was raised in the Church of San Lorenzo
• Was an only child

Saint Damasus,instead of worrying about the short term of life on earth,you took God's view and looked to the things that last.Pray for me that I may be able to look beyond immediate popularity and fleeting favors,and choose to do things that GOD wants me to do. Amen

• Patron Saint of Archeologists
• Feastday is on December 11
• Faced accusations of murder and aduletry
• Was the first Pope to refer to Rome as the apostolic
• Died on December 11,384

POPE😇

• He was a deacon and then a priest at San Lorenzo
• He became the assistant to Pope Liberius who was banished from the country
• He came back to Rome and was elected Pope by a landslide after the death of Pope Liberius
• However there were a fraction of supporters of Ursinus
• Turns out there were 2 Popes for a while until Ursinus was banished

Damasus was active in suppressing hersey and promoting the primacy of Rome.He made the Holy Spirit part of the Nicene Creed.He wanted to have all Catholics to be able to read the bible.Damasus was a big part of making the Western Catholicism.
