SAMUEL DE CHAMPLAIN

Samuel sailed on François Gravé Du Pont's expedition.

Samuel was looking for a city to establish.

Samuel was famous for his explorations in present -day places, in the United States of America, such as New York City.

Samuel started exploring North America in 1603, and died in 1635. In that time he spent his whole life exploring.

FUN FACTS!

  • Samuel's favorite color was blue.
  • He had three daughters, Hope, Charity, and Faith.
  • He was born a day before the Fourth of July, but passed away on Christmas Day.
  • "I directed the men in our barque to approach near the savages, and hold their arms in readiness to do their duty in case they notice any movement of these people against us."-Samuel De Champlain
  • There is a lake named after Samuel's last name. It is called Lake Champlain.
