SAMUEL DE CHAMPLAIN

• Samuel was born around agust 1574
• He was born in hiers-brouage,France
• Later in life he died December 25 1635
• He died in Quebec City

SAMUEL'S EARLY LIFE

• It's most commonly belived he was born a commoner
• Despite his origins he rose above to become a navigator
• Was eventually given his own ship

SAMUEL'S MISSION

• If he had a mission he kept it to himself
• But one of the things he wanted to accomplish was trade
• He wanted to bolster the failing French fur trade

SAMUEL'S ROUTE

• On his route to what is now Quebec he wasn't original
• His route was the same as Jacques Cartier
• Jacques took that route 70 years befor

SAMUEL'S MAJOR FINDS

• He achully founded Quebec
• He also found Champlain lake

INTERESTING INFO

• He was imprisoned in England
• He spent four years in prison
• Was returned to France after four years
• He then returned to Quebec a year later
