INVENTOR OF MORSE CODE

ABOUT THE INVENTOR

  • Samuel Morse was born April 27, 1791 in Charlestown, Boston, MA.
  • He was an inventor and a painter. In his liking of painting he
  • established a reputation of being a portrait painter. And afterwards
  • He invented a code (bearing his name) called morse code which consisted
  • Of dots and dashes.

ABOUT HIS INVENTION

  • Morse code, developed in the 1830s and 1840s,then was one of the very first ways to
  • Communicate over long distances. To make this possible
  • He first invented the telegraph which is why morse code was
  • Invented in the first place.

HOW ITS USED TODAY

  • Because morse code is the result of the invention of the
  • Telegraph morse code is still used today in the fashion of
  • Communicating with a telegraph in the case of dire emergencies,
  • Grid failures, or war.
