The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is a giant country in Asia. Saudi Arabia contains the world's largest continuous sand desert, the Rub Al-Khali, or Empty Quarter. It's next to the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea. It has the same borders as Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Oman, and Qatar.

A long time ago, there were a lot of tribes in the Arabian Peninsula. In 1932 AD, King Abdulaziz united these tribes to make KSA. The capital of Saudi Arabia is Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia is considered to be the center of Islam. It has Two Holy Mosques. One in Makkah, one in Madinah. Millions of Muslims come to Makkah every year to perform Al-Hajj and Omrah.

Saudi Arabia has a lot of oil that it sells to other countries. It also has a lot of fruits and vegetables. There are many landmarks and beautiful places to visit in KSA.

The Flag of Saudi Arabia

The flag of Saudi Arabia is green and considered a symbol of peace and Islam. Saudi Arabia started to use this flag in March 15, 1973. In the flag, there is some Arabic writing. It's the only flag in the world the world that has writing on it. This writing is called the 'Shahada' or 'Creed'.
It is: {لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ}

This text translates into: {There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah}

Under the 'Shahada', there is an Arab sword. The point of the sword has to be pointed towards the flagpole. The sword is a symbol of power. It's not over the 'Shahada', because it's not a symbol of aggression. It's there to protect and serve the cause of it.

The Saudi flag should never touch the ground or the water ever. This is only because of the 'Shahada'.

The Emblem of Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabian national emblem was starting to be used in 1950. It has two crossed swords with a palm tree in the space above and between the blades.

The swords represent the two kingdoms of Nejd and Hijaz, which were united under Ibn Saud in 1926. The palm tree represents the Kingdom's assets. The palm is being guarded by the two swords, which represent the force to be used in defence of KSA.
