ZORRILA

  • Closely related to the skunk
  • Also called the stripped pole cat
  • They are nocturnal so they hunt at night

  • Fastest running plant eater
  • They are usually always in giant herds
  • The new born scan stand with in 3-5 min.

BLACK CAIMAN

  • Are large meat eating reptiles
  • Spend more than half there life in water
  • Live in most freshwater habitats

AFRICAN ELEPHANT

  • Largest living land animal
  • They are every social
  • Headed by a female to the group
  • Elephants are amazing swimmers

  • Very small animals
  • Make tunnels as they burrow into the ground
  • A type of mongoose they live maybe 10 years

THE TEMP. OF THE TROPICAL SAVANMA RANGES FROM 20 TO 50 DEGREES C

PRECIPITATION

NOT MUCH PRECIPITATION, aVERAGES ABOUT 100 CM PER YEAR BUT GAINING.

CUCUMA

  • Members of the ginger family
  • Often found near panama
  • Foliage dies back every year
  • Known as the resurrection plant

PLEBEIAN TRUMPET VINE

  • Found in grass lands among shrubs
  • Poisonous
  • Leaves and vines produce latex

UMBRELLA THORN ACACIA

  • Most common and most recognized of the savanna
  • Can survive te pastures up to 112* and freezing at night

SOIL

  • Soil of tropical grasslands is porous with rapid drainage of water
  • The soil has a thin layer of hummus which provides vegetation with nutrients
