PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Fangs at Risk

Lightning Strikes!

if a forest fire started in the Rainforest it could become a desert

Complete destruction

This would make all animals lose their habitat

The Gaboon Viper would respond

to a forest fire by coming here

Severe Competition!

The gaboon viper competes with the Nose-Horned Viper for food

The gaboon viper would respond to

competition by developing niches, leaving, or fighting

The Gaboon Viper has a Mutualistic relationship with Rainforest vegetation. The vegetation gets protection and the Gaboon Viper gets food.

The Gaboon Viper might have this relationship because the plants aren't capable of protecting themselves.

The Gaboon Viper has a commensalitic relationship with Rainforest trees. It gets camouflage from the fallen leaves, but the tree does not get anything.

The Gaboon Viper might have this relationship because the mouse would see them and run off. They would fix this by having camouflage.

The Gaboon viper has a Parasitic relationship with Parasites. The Gaboon viper is harmed but the Parasites get food and shelter.

The Gaboon Viper would have this relationship because the parasites needed food and shelter. The parasites would might have gone to the Gaboon Viper because their old host died.

The Gaboon Viper has one very important adaptation which is it's camouflage. Gaboon viper camouflage helps the gaboon viper catch and eat prey because the prey cannot see it.

The Gaboon viper developed this adaptation because it needed to compete with the Nose-Horned Viper.

After a rainforest fire the ecosystem would go through secondary succession. The ecosystem would have to have different animals to take up the different roles. like how you can't have carnivores without the herbivores for them to eat, and you can't have herbivores without plants for them to eat.

The biodiversity in the rainforest would help with this process. The ecosystem would recuperate quicker because there are more animals to take up all of the roles in this complex ecosystem.

Humans are Coming!

The humans are now coming into the Ecosystem

The humans want:

  • THE FOOD FROM ALL THE ANIMALS AND PLANTS
  • THE WATER FROM THE STREAMS
  • THE WOOD FROM ALL THE TREES
  • ALL THE EXTRA SPACE

House Development

  • Development of the land for houses would devastate the Rainforest.
  • This disaster would destroy the Gaboon Viper population by taking away their habitat.

How you can help

  • You can help by helping me try to turn the Rainforest into a Wildlife Reserve.
  • You can donate by going to SavingtheGaboonViper.com.
  • They need our help so why don't we give to them.
